Certified Nurse Midwife – Greater Seattle, Washington / Hospital-Based CNM, Labor & Delivery Midwife
Step into a highly collaborative hospital-based assignment where you’ll provide full-spectrum midwifery care alongside an experienced OB team. This rewarding locum opportunity offers meaningful work with a diverse patient population while practicing in a well-equipped birth center just outside Seattle.
Why This Assignment
- Assignment Dates: Start as soon as credentialed (credentialing may take up to 90 days)
- Schedule: Six 24-hour call shifts per month, with additional shifts possible; some holiday availability required
- Practice in a 159-bed Level III Trauma Center
- Work alongside a team of 6 OB/GYN physicians, 6 CNMs, 1 gynecologic surgeon, and 1 gynecology ARNP
- Approximately 1,200 births annually, with CNMs managing nearly half
- One OB physician and one CNM are on call at all times
- On-site anesthesia, labor tubs, dedicated LDR suites, and a separate postpartum unit
- Utilize Epic EMR and collaborate with experienced birth center RNs
- Explore Seattle’s nearby dining, waterfront attractions, parks, and cultural destinations during your time off
About You
- Be able to do the job as described.
- Master’s degree in Nurse Midwifery
- Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) certification required
- Washington Nurse Midwife license or eligibility through a compact license pathway
- Experience performing surgical first assist during cesarean sections
- Proficiency with Epic EMR
- Ability to provide triage, labor management, delivery, discharge, and after-hours telephone triage services
