Locum Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner – Akron, Ohio / Geriatric PMHNP
Provide meaningful psychiatric care to geriatric and dementia patients across Akron-area facilities. This locum assignment offers a predictable weekday schedule, and the freedom to focus on clinical decision-making rather than paperwork.
Why This Assignment
- Assignment Dates: 8–12 weeks minimum; approximately 60-day credentialing
- Schedule: Four weekdays rounding, approximately 7–9 a.m. to 3–5 p.m.; Friday half-day for documentation
- Pay: $120/hour
- Visit two facilities daily across 5–10 Akron-area locations
- Approximately 30 patient visits daily, focused on psychiatric medication management
- Treat geriatric behavioral health and dementia patients in post-acute and long-term care settings
- Dedicated care coordinator accompanies rounds, prepares charts, documents encounters, and coordinates follow-ups
- Two collaborating psychiatrists available remotely
- Travel: All expenses covered, including mileage between facilities
About You
- Be able to do the job as described.
- MSN or graduate degree in Nursing
- PMHNP board certification required
- Active Ohio Nurse Practitioner license
- Experience in long-term care or post-acute behavioral health
- Comfortable managing psychiatric medications for elderly and dementia patients
- Collaborative, personable, and skilled at building facility relationships
